Lavatera 'Pink Regis'
Lavatera trimestris
Lavatera ‘Pink Regis’ has soft pink, hollyhock-style blooms on compact, well-behaved plants. It flowers from mid-summer into fall.
If you’ve grown hibiscus and been disappointed in the vase, don’t worry — lavatera is different. Even though they’re in the same family, lavatera is amazing as a cut flower.
Each stem carries multiple buds that open gradually from the bottom up, giving you a longer vase life and arrangements that stay fresh. Easy to grow and productive.

Site: full sun
Days to maturity: 80–90 days from sowing
Plant spacing: 12-18”
Pinch: optional for bushier growth
Kids, Pets, and Deer Resistance: non-toxic, deer resistant

How to Grow:
Transplant (recommended): Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Sow lightly, keeping soil moist and warm (~70–75°F) until germination. Harden off seedlings before planting outside.
Direct seed: Sow ¼” deep after all frost danger has passed.
Lavatera grows quickly from seed and can tolerate a range of soil types, though it prefers fertile, well-drained soil.
Cut or deadhead regularly to keep flowers coming throughout the season.
Germination: 7–14 days at 70–75°F (21–24°C)
Where to Plant: Plant in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Lavatera tolerates some drought once established but performs best with moderate watering. Space plants to allow airflow and avoid overcrowding.
Harvesting / Vase Life: Harvest when the bottom flowers have opened and the top buds are starting to show color. Vase life is 5–7 days. Remove faded blooms to encourage continued flowering.
